The Audiology Assistant performs a variety of routine tasks and duties under the direct supervision of an audiologist, allowing the audiologist to focus on evaluative, diagnostic, management and treatment services required to be performed by a licensed audiologist. Duties include:
•Assists the audiologist in the daily administrative and tasks surrounding hearing aid delivery:
•Minimum requirements include high school diploma and computer skills, a degree in communication sciences and disorders preferred.
•Comfort with technology troubleshooting including Bluetooth/apps on iPhone and android products, and a high degree of patience and empathy
•Performs biologic listening checks on equipment.
• Conducts telephone inquiries
• Confident to work in a fast-paced medical office environment.
• Does in-office repairs and modifications
• Maintains inventory and ordering of supplies and equipment
• Assists in rooming patients • Schedules and registers patients
•Performing assistance during audiological evaluations
•Instructing patients and families in the use of hearing technology equipment
•Troubleshooting hearing technology devices, recommending repairs, and drafting requests for authorization of parts and repairs
